Another Fine Mess
by C. Carson Parks

When I was young, I had a book of stories with line drawings in a cartoon-like style.  One of the tales was about a colonial-type soldier (with a cloud over his head), who was followed by a gloomy wimp called "trouble."  I thought it would be a cute idea about a guy whose heart always gets him in trouble.  The picture in my mind also included Laurel and Hardy, of course, and borrows one of their famous lines.
